The questions people usually ask me about symptoms, prices, appointments, postal repair and the warranty.
Can every VW touchscreen fault be repaired?
Some faults are in the touch layer, while others involve the LCD, software, wiring or head unit. I will check the symptoms and exact unit before confirming a booking.
Will I keep my original infotainment system?
Where the unit is suitable, yes. The aim is to repair the touch-sensitive component and keep the original head unit, factory appearance and vehicle integration.
Do you offer mobile VW touchscreen repair?
Yes. I charge £250 for a compatible mobile touchscreen repair at an agreed Lincoln address, including removal, repair, refitting and testing. I book customers on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Can I post my infotainment unit to Ed?
Yes. Postal touchscreen repair is £150 for a compatible unit that has already been removed. Wait for me to confirm the full unit details before sending it to S21 Sparkhouse, Enterprise Building, Rope Walk, Lincoln, LN6 7DQ.
When can I book a mobile or Lincoln appointment?
I book customer appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If your chosen day is full, you can still join the waiting list for it.
What photographs should I send?
Please send a clear photo of the whole screen and button layout, plus the vehicle make, model and year. A photo of the unit label and a short fault video are especially useful.
Will vehicle settings be preserved?
Keeping the original unit usually helps retain its settings and integration, although I cannot promise this for every fault. Back up anything important where you can.
What does the two-year warranty cover?
If the replacement touchscreen fitted by VW Screen Fix develops a fault within two years of the repair, Ed will fit another new touchscreen at no charge. Accidental or impact damage, cracked glass, liquid or heat damage, misuse, tampering, incorrect removal or refitting, third-party work and separate LCD or head-unit faults are excluded.
Do you repair cracked LCD displays?
Cracks, lines or ink-like bleed can involve the LCD as well as the touch layer. Send me clear photos and I will tell you whether this service is suitable.
Does a 5C0 035 680 or 5C0 035 200 code confirm the repair?
Those prefixes help me identify the head-unit family. I still need the full part number and suffix, unit label, screen design and symptoms before I can confirm the repair.
